SAFETY OFFICER

JOB PURPOSE: 

To implement Zamil Group Real Estate Health & Safety Policy to maintain a safe and injury free work environment. To plan, execute and monitor health and safety programs for and among ZRE employees and work units. To continuously educate ZRE employees on health and safety in the workplace. 


1.Safety training and education 
•Coordinates with line managers and supervisors to determine safety training needs. 
•Develops, conducts or outsources relevant safety training programs. 
•Documents and updates superiors on safety training activities. 
•Prepares Safety Training Curriculum. 
•Educate employees on risk and hazard assessment present in work area. 
•Coordinate with Managers, Operations Officers, and Supervisors to identify / eliminate known hazards in their respective jurisdiction. 
•Conducts safety orientation to new recruits. 
2.Implementation of Safety Standards 
•Communicates to employee’s safety policy and procedures. 
•Prepares and implement a year-long program of activities that aim to increase the interest and awareness of all ZRE employees on safety issues. 
•Prepares and executes planned preventive maintenance ( PPM ) for automatic sprinkler systems in all ZRE Compounds, Villages and Buildings. 
•Ensures that portable fire extinguishers are maintained cost-effectively through external safety maintenance suppliers. 
•Prepares recommendation for required firefighting equipment either for replacement or new installation for ZRE Compounds, Villages and Buildings. 
•Prepares and install safety posters, signages, village / compound / building directory and emergency exit routes. 
3.Organizational Compliance to Safety Requirements of Government and Other Entities 
•Maintains a cost effective inventory of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). 
•Controls the issuance of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). 
•Ensures that PPE conforms to quality specifications by inspecting and approving samples of PPE. 
•Provide assistance to Government or Private Insurance surveyors during inspection visits to the Villas, Compounds and Buildings. 
.4.Conduct of Safety Audits 
-Visits Zamil Group Camps, Villages, and Buildings to conduct safety inspections on a regular basis. 
•Identifies safety issues and, as necessary, takes immediate corrective action or submits recommendation to the managers concerned. 
•Conducts formal annual departmental safety audit to ascertain compliance on ZRE Health & Safety Policy. 
•Compiles audit findings and submits recommendations for management action. 
•Gather data on accidents and prepares accident analysis and statistics. 
Conduct of Safety Audits 
5.Formulation and compilation of health and safety procedures 
•Formulate Health & Safety policy. 
6.Driving Skills Assessment 
•Conducts test & training of compound drivers 
•Conducts post training skills assessment for drivers. 
•Conduct preliminary test to employee applying for Saudi driver’s license. 
7.Administrative Role 
•Prepare Annual Safety Budget 
•Maintain and Update safety documentation. 
•Organizes Safety committee and lead the activities and regular meetings.

Skills

Education: • Bachelor’s Degree (4 year course) or equivalent. 

Experience(s) •Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in Real Estate business, particularly in high rise buildings, western compounds and bachelor accommodation. 

Professional Qualifications or Certifications •Certified Driving Instructor, Certified First Aid Instructor 

Computer Skill / Proficiency:•Proficiency in MS-Office application. 

Communication Skills Required•Proficiency in oral and writing skills; Oral language skills to include the ability to make occasional trainings; writing skills at the level of writing memorandum and correspondence to management. 

Personal Competencies and Attributes 
•Experience in maintenance of Automatic Sprinkler System and Portable Fire Extinguishers. 
•Leadership skills, attention to details, analytical skills, interpersonal skills, People management skills, problem solving skills, sense of urgency, Ability work to with less supervision.
